Young’s has a long history in Scotland, where it employs some 1600 people and buys around £65M of Scottish seafood a year.
Macrae joined Young’s in 2004, and the combined organisation now has top class production facilities at Annan, Stornoway, Edinburgh, Fraserburgh and Inverness, as well as a traditional salmon smokehouse, Spey Valley, in the Highlands.
We buy a range of Scottish caught seafish including haddock, herring and mackerel as well as 18,000 tonnes of Scottish farmed salmon each year. Langoustine is another key species in Scotland and Young’s purchases a large proportion of the country’s catch which it uses for its famous Premium scampi brand, for delicious speciality seafood and supplied whole and fresh to the restaurant trade.
